Bernadette Barnes is a true poet of the Shire. Accompanied by gorgeous imagery, her poetry speaks of the secret places in nature, the peacefulness of isolation, and the intense longing so many share to escape to the wilds. Honest and relatable, this collection is a visual feast and a reflective, soulful read.
All purchases of Bernadette Barnes’ book come with two bookmarks: one for Elements of the Heart and one for our Poetry Month campaign, Beauty Distilled.

Bernadette Barnes is a native Torontonian, mother of two amazing daughters and “Grammie” of two. Family and friends mean everything to her. A love of nature sees her frequently wandering about with her camera, recording images to act as inspiration for future bits of her “scribbling.” Employed as an office manager, it is her writing and photography that help keep her sane.
Long an aspiring poet and photographer, she has had her poems published in both Canada and the USA. In addition, she has had photos featured in Issue 51 of Mallorn, the journal of The Tolkien Society.
